ETUCE – European Trade Union Committee for Education congratulates our Serbian colleagues on their successful negations with the government and salary raise. Therefore, the planned strike by Serbian Trade Unions have been cancelled. Унија синдиката просветних радника Србије (the Teachers Union of Serbia (TUS), the Autonomous Union of Employees in Science and Research of Serbia (SSS-Serbia), and the Nezavisnost Teachers Trade Union (NTTU),
✅Four representative trade unions in education in Serbia signed yesterday, October 12, the Protocol on the improvement of material position of employees in Elementary and Secondary (VET) schools in 2024, with Prime Minister and Minister of Education of Serbia. By this Protocol it is regulated that all employees in education will have additional increasing of salaries for 10% from January 2024 (beside 5,5% from October this year), as well the additional wage raising to reach the average salary of all employees in Serbia until end of year 2024.
✅ Beside this, additional payment for class master teachers will be increased from 4% to 7%. The work on the diminishing of administrative burden of all teachers will continue, as well the working groups activities with participation of union representatives.
✅With this signed Protocol, the reasons for announced strike of employees in education were solved and the strike is cancelled.👊✊👊✌️
